I’m a small shop, can I have this new technology?
Absolutely! Chemcraft’s comprehensive network of well-trained, closely-supported distributors spans the US and Canada. Our standard product lines embody all of the best and most user-friendly technologies that we have encountered since Chemcraft’s 1976 founding. Simply using off-the-shelf Chemcraft coatings puts all of this experience at your disposal. When that is not enough, our distributors offer custom coatings designed to meet regional needs or specific customer requirements. We regard all of our customers as partners. Since your needs drive our technological advances, your problems are our opportunities.

What are HAPs? Are my coatings HAPs free?
HAPs stands for Hazardous Air Pollutants. The US Congress has defined these chemicals as having a negative effect on respiratory, reproductive, or neurological systems, or as being carcinogenic. There is a list of HAPs solvents here.

Often, other companies sell coatings as being HAPs free, or as containing HAPs-free solvents. While minimizing HAPs is good, these labels can be misleading. Many of these products still contain formaldehyde, although in small enough amounts to avoid the legal reporting requirement. Also, reactive amino coatings such as pre-catalyzed lacquers, conversion varnishes, and other acid-cured products emit formaldehyde as they cure. Formaldehyde is a HAP. Calling a product that contains even small amounts of this chemical “HAPs-free” is legal, but not accurate. For information on truly HAPs-free coatings, click here and learn about Chemtech.
