VIVID COLOR WIPE Stain Base
825-5600 Promatch® Vivid Color Wipe SB Stain
Product Codes:

825-5600

Surface Preparation:

Wood substrate must be sanded using 120, 150 or 180 grit paper prior to staining. On wood such as maple, coarser sanding, such as 150 grit should be performed to avoid polishing of the wood surface. Hand sanding in the direction of the grain following orbital sanding will remove swirl marks.

Application must be by hand or spray. The stain must be wiped into the grain and then wiped clean with a clean rag to ensure good adhesion by subsequent clear coats.

General Information:

Product must be thoroughly agitated before use and during application for color consistency.

Product can be tinted with 844 Tints up to 25% to achieve dark colors.

Dirty and clean rags must be disposed of in a safe and approved manner. The use of closed containers filled with water is the most appropriate way for disposal of the rags.

Drying time is fairly short. Only 45 minutes is required prior to apply sealer. However, heavy coats of dark colors should get at least 60 minutes drying. The suggested drying time must be adhered to in order to ensure proper adhesion.

These products are designed for industrial use only. AkzoNobel views safety as a top priority. Please refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for information on the safe use of this product.

Dry times are greatly affected by film build, porosity of substrate, air movement as well as heat and humidity. Temperatures are based on actual board temperature. This may vary depending on length of time for boards to reach these temperatures. Minimum curing temperatures of 64°F/18°C must be maintained throughout the curing cycle to achieve the film integrity as stated in product features.
