Surface Preparation:

Wood substrate must be sanded using 120, 150 or 180 grit paper prior to staining. On wood such as maple, coarser sanding, such as150 grit, should be performed to avoid polishing of the wood surface. Hand sanding in the direction of the grain following orbital sanding will remove swirl marks.

General Information:

Product must be thoroughly agitated before use and during application for color consistency.

Dirty and clean rags must be disposed of in a safe and approved manner. The use of closed containers filled with water is the most appropriate way for disposal of the rags.

Drying time is very short and 20 minutes is sufficient prior to applying sealer. However, heavy coats in dark colors should get at least 30 minutes drying. The suggested drying time must be adhered to in order to ensure proper adhesion.

These products are designed for industrial use only. AkzoNobel views safety as a top priority. Please refer to Material Safety Data Sheet for information on the safe use of this product.

Dry times are greatly affected by film build, porosity of substrate, air movement as well as heat and humidity. Temperatures are based on actual board temperature. This may vary depending on length of time for boards to reach these temperatures. Minimum curing temperatures of 64°F/18°C must be maintained throughout the curing cycle to achieve the film integrity as stated in product features.
